The 2025 NWTA Convention is over.
There was a tour of the Los Alamos' Bradbury Museum, Historical Museum, and a guided tour of the historical 'Bathtub Row'. In Albuquerque. we visited The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, and saw the new Artifacts Building, where the NWTA is listed as one of the main donors for the construction. Unfortunately, the building is still being setup, but looking through the windows we can see many Type 3 trainers that will be part of the displays there. We also viewed the B53 trainer and 7M trailer that Doug Chapman and a few others restored prior to Doug's passing. It is a fitting testamony to Doug's professionalism as a 463/2W2.
At our General Meeting, voted to fund a plaque in honor of Doug Chapman at the Nuclear Science Museum outside the artifacts building. We also honored Ray MacAllister with a special B28 weapon to honor his years of service as a 463, Munitions Officer, and at Sandia.
We also asked the assembled membership for suggestions for the next convention, and will be putting out a survey to the membership to select the top two for us to research availability and costs for the 2026 convention. Final minutes will be available soon, as well as pictures under our Breakroom -> Conventions menu item.
