Earl E. Wallace, 69, loving husband, father and "Pappo" passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Brooks Army Medical Center of a brain aneurysm. He was surrounded by his wife, daughters and two grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. Wallace for over 42 years.
Earl was born July 18, 1940 in Dexter, Iowa, the son of Earl Sheridan Wallace and Eulah Kelly Wallace. He was a baptized member of the Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Harlandale High School, San Antonio, Texas, class of 1958. He served proudly and honorably in the United States Air Force for 27 years and with the US Postal Service for 13 years. His military career took him to many places including; Guam, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Turkey, England and Albuquerque. He returned to San Antonio to retire in 2005. He was the father of three daughters and a step-son. He had eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on January 8, 2010 at 11:45 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Earl was loved and respected by all who knew him and his love, counsel and influence will be sadly missed.
