Henry "Woody" W. Wood, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on February 9, 2004. He was born on October 5, 1942 in New Jersey to Ralph and Dorothy Wood.
Woody grew up in Gettysburg, PA and graduated from Gettysburg Regional High School in 1960. In 1963 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and spent over 20 years as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist with many tours of duty including England, Greece, and stateside at Kirtland Air Force Base, retiring as a Tech Sergeant.
After his retirement with the Air Force, Woody spent over 20 years working at the Officer's Club at Kirtland Air Force Base where he acquired most of his very special friends. The depth of this man embraced the past, present and future. His interest in art, music, history, literature, "electronic gadgets", and yes, a hardcore Lobo fan made him a true treasure to his family and friends. A more steadfast friend will never be found or be more deeply missed.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother Paul Muench of Arlington, VA; and a host of very special friends and loved ones.
