Owen Charles Fletcher, 78, Indian Mound, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, KY with Dennis Jones officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. The remains are to be cremated. Anglin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born August 30, 1931 in Comanche, Texas, son of the late Ira and Nettie Acker Fletcher.
Mr. Fletcher was retired CMSGT Air Force having served 21 years during the Korean-Vietnam and Cold War Eras and served on Johnston Island Atoll with the Nuclear Missile Program, and he was the Vice Principal of Stewart County High School where he taught math for 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 104, Toccoa, GA, VFW Post 4346, Toccoa, GA, Air Force Sergeant Association, Nuclear Veterans Association, and the Stewart County Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Laverne Fletcher. Survivors include his wife, Drucilla Tucker Fletcher, children, Charles (Kathy) Fletcher, Georgetown, TX, Michelle Barton, Hermitage, TN, Mona(Rick) Graham, Lansing, KS, Moira (Bryant) Wood, Spring, TX, stepdaughter, Meriam (Mark) Tummons, Cumberland Furnace, TN, brothers, Wilburn (Collene) Fletcher, Bronte, TX, George (Jackie) Fletcher, Eastland, TX, brother-in-law, William Tucker, Toccoa, GA, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
