ATHENS TX — Memorial services for Hugh Freeman Blaylock, Jr., 78, Athens, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church (2181 U.S. Highway 175 East, Athens) with the Rev. Arnold Walker officiating.
Mr. Blaylock died Sunday morning in Tyler.
He was born to the late Rev. Hugh Freeman Blaylock, Sr. and Thelma Irene Owens Blaylock.
Mr. Blaylock was a resident of Athens for the past 33 years, and was a member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Athens. He was a retired electrician, and had worked on overseas oil rigs around the world. Mr. Blaylock was a Veteran of the Korean war and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Phillip Elwood Blaylock, 1978, and a brother, William LeRoy Blaylock.
Survivors include his wife, Regina H. Blaylock, Athens, son, Dennis Blaylock and his wife Denise, Little Elm, daughter, Patricia Everett and her husband Terry, Overton, grandchildren Bobby Peugh, Jon Peugh, Sarah Bullock, Dylan Everett, Heather Blaylock, Megan Everett, Austin Everett, Ashley Blaylock, Ben Blaylock, and Aaron Blaylock, great-grandchildren, Hayden Peugh, Pyper Peugh, Jonathan Peugh, Jr., Cale Hagen, sisters Janice Baxter, Charlotte Ratcliff, Elizabeth Key and Judy Green.
