DanPaulsonDaniel "Dan" E. Paulson, 70,of Park Rapids, MN died on Sat. Dec.20, 2014 at his home. Daniel Edward Paulson was born on April 1, 1940 the son of C. Everett and Olive (Wilson) Paulson in Redding, California. Dan grew up in Park Rapids, MN and Wabaun, MN graduating in 1962. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for 20 years. He was united in marriage to Susan G. Williams on December 20, 1969 in Montague, CA. He was stationed in California, Colorado, Alaska, Minnesota and North Dakota. His primary specialty title was Nuclear Weapons Superintendent with the Strategic Air Command.

He retired as a Master Sergeant 28 feb 1983 from Grand Forks Air Force Base. He and his wife Susan returned to Park Rapids, MN and Dan began a second career with Itasca-Mantrap Electric Coop where he served for 25 years as the member service director, retiring in 2008. Dan was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Park Rapids, MN. He was a longtime active member of the Park Rapids Lions Club and the Otto Hendrickson American Legion Post #212 of Park Rapids, MN. He and his grandson Pierce were involved with the annual clean up at Itasca State Park.

He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and volunteering doing things for other people. He will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor and likable nature. Dan is survived by his wife Susan of Park Rapids; two sons—Bill Paulson of Anchorage, AK; Dexter Paulson of Park Rapids, MN; grandsons—Pierce Paulson of Park Rapids; Daniel Paulson of Fargo, ND; granddaughter-Mariaha Paulson of Anchorage, AK; sisters- Jean Magnuson of Selkirk, Manitoba; Jane Peterson of Minneapolis, MN; Vivian Schwab of Sacramento, CA; brother—Tony Paulson of Shirtze, TX; and a nephew-- John George of Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents—C. Everett and Olive Paulson and two brothers—Duane and Dexter.
