EVERETT MAURICE MCGLOTTEN
DECEMBER 1, 1940 - APRIL 10, 2016
Everett McGlotten or Bud or Buddy as he was affectionately known to his friends and family passed after a courageous fight against cancer. He passed April 10th 2016 at Audie Murphy Veterans Hospital. He was 75.
Born 12/1/1940 he was raised in Riverside N.J. and graduated from Riverside H.S. After the traumatic death of his father at the age of 10, Bud was thrust into adulthood early helping his widowed mother by working at a young age to help financially support his family including 3 younger siblings. Bud leaves behind a loving widow of over 35 years- Georgette, two loving sons- Everett and Douglas, plus his beloved stepchildren- Kurt, Patricia, and Jochen. In addition he is survived by loving grandchildren both in the United States and Belgium. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and brother Arthur Lee McGlotten- also a decorated veteran. He is survived by his sister Lora Jean and brother Clifford.
Bud served with distinction and retired from the USAF as a MSGT after 24 years plus of active service, and then another 20 years of civil service- all in the field of nuclear weapons. In his highly classified specialized field Bud was an expert in the service of his country. His was an unique and analytical mind and though sociable and humorous, he possessed a biting wit and sharp intellect... His interests outside of family were numerous and included a love of computers, sports, politics, technology, cars, photography, and travel. Additionally, Bud was passionate about bowling and playing his beloved pinochle.Yes...Bud was highly competitive! His travels included military stints in Turkey, Taiwan, and Belgium; moreover his civil service career often took him to Europe and gave him opportunities to visit his beloved extended family members in Europe.
