Edward W. Schwanitz, 86-years old, reunited with his beloved wife of more than 50 years on the morning of December 10, 2018. Dad died nearly 6 years to the day of our mother Beryl Schwanitz. Dad is survived by 5 sons; Paul A. Schwanitz and wife Selina of Atlanta, GA, David W. Schwanitz and wife Liz of Albuquerque, Alan E. Schwanitz and wife Karen of Albuquerque, Cary J. Schwanitz and wife Gail of Albuquerque, and Ian A. Schwanitz of Las Vegas, NV. Ed has 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Our father served 33 years in the Air Force with honor and multiple commendations. Retirement is required after 30 years of service. It took an act of Congress to extend Dad's career by 3 years because of his vital knowledge for the security of the United States. We were so proud of dad when he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, which is the highest and most prestigious enlisted rank in the U.S. Air Force.
