Daniel “Dan” P. McCall, 66, of Danvers, passed away on Thursday (May 23, 2019) at the University of Chicago Medical Center, Chicago. His loving wife and family were by his side.

Dan’s service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 5504 N. University St., Peoria, with the Rev. Mark McCall officiating. Burial will be held at Stouts Grove Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with military honors conducted by the Bloomington/Normal American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church in Peoria.

The family suggests memorials to be made to Peoria Nazarene Church.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

Dan was born on Nov. 30, 1952, in Peoria, to Dickey Reeder and Mary Boland McCall. He married Melinda Freese on June 11, 1972, in Normal. They cherished their marriage of over 46 years.

Dan is survived by his wife, Mindy McCall; their children, Megan (Eric) Nichols, White Heath, and Mark (Jennifer) McCall, Peoria; grandchildren, Olivia, Suzanna, and William Nichols, Samuel, Isaiah, Levi, and Autumn McCall. Also surviving are his sister, Kathie (Steve) Bradley, Bloomington, and his brother, Michael (Patty) McCall, La Feria, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dan served in the U.S. Air Force as a nuclear weapons specialist during the end of the Vietnam War. He started and co-owned US Mechanical Services in Normal for 25 years. Dan also was a pastor, chaplain, teacher, bass guitar player, farmer, and skilled outdoorsman. He was a member of the Peoria Nazarene Church. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, and grandfather.

His love for Jesus and his family transcended everything else in his life and transformed his relationships. His family is so thankful for him and misses him so much. He is with his savior in heaven now and we look forward to being united with him again.
