DOBBS, TROY H. On Sunday, May 18, 2014, Troy passed into the wild blue yonder.

He was born August 11, 1943 in Livingston, TX.After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Air Force in 1961 and proudly served his country for 23 years until he retired in 1984. Troy met his wife, Barbara White, while stationed in Oklahoma. He received military orders and left for England shortly after meeting her and subsequently wrote letters to Barbara for one and a half years. He told everyone the reason they got married was for an excuse for him to visit the States and for Barbara to go to England. They were married July 30, 1968 in Oklahoma and then returned to England.

Troy and Barbara have two great children, Steve and Jennifer. He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments. During his military career, he was stationed in Texas, Spain, Oklahoma, England, Michigan, Colorado, Turkey, Arkansas and New Mexico. Troy received numerous awards while in the military. He also completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Education while in the military graduating in 1984. Troy said he chose to retire in New Mexico because there were no mosquitoes, hurricanes, or tornadoes and very little snow.

After retirement, Troy said he had to go to work for a living and spent the next 24 years working as a technical writer. He finally retired at the age of 66 to enjoy a life of doing a list of "honey-dos" for Barbara. Troy will be greatly missed for his wit, sarcasm and humor by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara, of the home, his son Steve and his wife, Lesley, grandchildren Kelton, Alayna, and Braydon of Albuquerque, NM and daughter, Jennifer Dobbs of El Dorado, AR. He is also survived by his two sisters, Laverne Dillon and Mildred Clifton and brother, Tommy Dobbs, of Livingston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents Troy and Irvie Dobbs.
