Robert Brent Wachter, 54, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at his home. Robert was born on December 18, 1958, a son to the late James Edward Wachter and Myrtle Edith Wachter.

Robert attended Richard Butler Elementary School and was a 1977 graduate of Butler High School in Butler, New Jersey, before enlisting in the US Air Force. He served as a Staff Sergeant from 1977 to 1986. Robert attended California State University receiving a bachelor’s degree in economics. He received the Wall Street Journal award for excellence in economics while pursuing his studies.

At the time of his passing, Robert was a Management Analysis Specialist for the MO Department of Mental Health in Jefferson City, Missouri, where he has lived for the past eight years. He previously worked for MO Department of Revenue, MO Department of Social Services, Sedalia Steel Supply, Royal Oaks Hospital and Northrop Grumman Corporation. He enjoyed regular disc golf and poker games with his friends in Jeff City. In addition, he enjoyed bike rides and watching classic movies with his special friend, Marilyn Lehman. He also enjoyed reading a variety of genres

Additional reminiscences from Joe Toppi:

Robert "Doc" Wachter (1958-2013).  I served with Doc at Griffiss from 1984-1986, & then subsequently at Edwards from 1986-1990.  "Doc" was already at Griffiss for a few years by the time I had gotten there, & he was the very first certified ALCM Team Chief in the Air Force at an operational base.  After Griffiss, quite a few of us went to Edwards to work on the B-2 and ACM programs (myself, Doc, Doc's then wife Nancy (a 316), Angus Claytor, Kevin Finnegan, and a few others).  While at Edwards on the B-2 program, Doc left the Air Force & became a defense contractor with Northrop Grumman.
