Boonville- Robert G. Scheehl, CMSGT (Ret), of Boonville, went to be with the Commander of us all, on December 24, 2020.

He was born in Woodgate, NY, on January 25, 1938, the youngest son of Messia G. and Reva E. (Sweeting) Scheehl. Robert received his education in Woodgate and Forestport schools, graduating in 1955. In July, 1956, he joined the Air Force, where he spent the next 28 and one half years rising to the rank of Chief Master Sargent, and retiring in December, 1984. He later spent 10 years as a civil service employee in the field of Logistics Management.

In December of 1958, Robert married Nora B. Chapman, of Westlake, LA. They had 4 children; the oldest two Michael and Anthony were adopted by Robert and after their marriage. Later the couple had 2 more children, Kathryn and Robert. In 1984, Nora passed away.

At the time of his death, Robert was married to Evelyn since April 28, 2001.

Bob was an avid golfer and hunter. He was a life member of the American Legion Love Post 406, DSC, Boonville, a member of the DAV, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Harland J. Hennessey V.F.W. Post 5538, Boonville, a member of White Otter Fish & Game Club of Woodgate and a founding member of the Nuclear Weapons Technicians Association. For many years Mr. Scheehl was a volunteer instructor of the NYS Sportsman Education Program.

He is survived by his brother, Sheldon and wife Kathy, of Forestport, NY; two sons; Michael Scheehl and his wife, Jill, NM, and their two children; Jeremy and Michelle; Robert Scheehl and his wife Bonnie, NM and their children; Heather and Jennifer; one daughter, Kathryn Scheehl, TX and her daughter Katlyn. Robert’s son, Anthony, (who is deceased), has a son, Michael Scheehl, who lives in TN; also surviving are 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lawrence Scheehl, David Perdue, Charles Scheehl and sisters, Janet Lavigna and Joyce Spirelis.

A graveside service with Military honors will be held in Woodgate Cemetery in the spring of 2021 at a date and time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodgate Free Library, Woodgate, NY 13494. His funeral arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville
