Joseph Scott McFadden, 59, passed away on Dec. 13, 2020, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was born July 29, 1961, in Grove City, the son of Joseph Eugene McFadden and Elizabeth Ann Guiste (McFadden).

A 1979 graduate of Franklin Senior High School in Franklin, Scott served in the United States Air Force from 1979-1994. During that time he served at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, NC, Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome, NY, Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily, Italy, Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, ME and Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, MT. At the time of his discharge Scott was a Staff Sargent decorated with the Air Force Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with five oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with three oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with two oak leaf clusters, NCO Professional Education Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon and Air Force Training Ribbon.

Scott was an Operations Manager with WMMC and Environmental Products and Services in Pittsburgh and a Health Physicist with Clym Environmental in Frederick, MD.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Scott also enjoyed coaching youth baseball and was a youth hockey coach for over 30 years in Loring, ME, Great Falls, MT, Beaver, PA, Frederick, MD and Hagerstown, MD. Recently he enjoyed spending time with his pup, Zoe.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents as well as his father and is survived by his mother Elizabeth McFadden Guiste (William), his wife of 41 years, Carol Ann McFadden (Breithaupt) and his seven children, Heather Ann McFadden (Larry) of Frederick, MD, Amanda Lee McFadden of Pittsburgh, PA, Joseph Michael McFadden (Liz) of Big Sky, MT, Michelle Lynn McFadden (James) of Hampstead, NC, James Erwin McFadden of Germantown, MD, Lillian Marie McFadden of Maple Hill, NC and Erin Elizabeth McFadden of Surf City, NC. Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Noah Lee, Garrison Porter, Ira John and Larkin Pasquelina as well as two sisters, Bobbi Jo McFadden of Bruceton Mills, WV, Lisa Desko (Alan) of Pearl, PA and many nieces and nephews.
