Just joined after finding the site online which I thought was pretty cool. I was a 463 at Pease from 1983 to 1987 working the WSA. I'll never forget my first day on the job, got through security and then out to the shop building, which was completely empty as were both weapons bays, went out back and there was about 12 people with some bungi cord stretched between 2 telephone poles, launching a home made "missile" (broom handle with a hook nose and aluminum tape fins) about 600 yards into the perimeter fence trying to get the motion sensors to go off so that the SP's would roll ! Welcome to the WSA !
It was kind of a combination of stripes and caddyshack for the next 3 years, but with nukes :)

Then there was the time that someone got a forklift stuck in a snow bank, and then they took one of the step vans to get the forklift out and got that stuck in the snow, so the shop chief sent me (the responsible one !) down with a deuce and a half to get them both out and we ended up crunching the step van into he deuce and a half along the way and after some emergency maintenance on the step van had to convince the shop chief that a giant seagull flew into the door and cause the giant ding in it !

Then there were the fond memories of getting jacked up about 150 times in the freezing cold (SP's just loved that !) because no one could do basic math with the number of the day !

Then there was the day that while getting jacked up, crazy Jim Cozine decided we weren't giving up possesion of the nukes ! which led to a tense standoff with the SP's while staring down the barrel of an M60 machine gun on top of an armored SP vehicle

Then there was crazy Leo the asbestos removal contractor who was confident that he could pole vault over the perimeter fence and avoid the ground sensors with no problems, we BEGGED him to give that a try !

A lot of great stories during my time there, names that I can remember;
Kevin Ouellette, aka Cuz2 who I'm still in contact with today
Reginald Hardy, aka the black death
Pat Walsh, Carolyn Munn, Jim Cozine, Tony Garcia, Bill Wahl, Ron Flateau, Donnie Reynolds, Weird Ed, and who can forget Richard (what do you mean big teeth !) Greenwood

Glad I got to server and lots of great memories !
