SENECA -- Michael P. Lynch, 51, of Seneca, died Thursday, Sept. 27, at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
There will be no funeral services. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home in Seneca with the American Legion Kasal Post 457 presenting the flag.

Mr. Lynch was born July 29, 1956, in Ottawa, to John and Geraldine (Spence) Lynch. He married Donna Hubbard on Oct. 24, 1983, in Grand Forks, N.D.

He served in the Navy from 1974 to 1980, the Illinois National Guard from 1980 to 1982 and the Air Force from 1983 to 1994, where he retired in 1994 after 20 years as a nuclear weapons maintenance technician.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 457 in Seneca and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Marseilles.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Pam Lynch of Seneca; a son, Sean Lynch of Fort Bragg, N.C.; two grandchildren, Shelby Lynn and Lilly Lynch; and five sisters, Diana "Dee" (Thomas) Green and Suzanne (Darrell) Peterson, both of Seneca, Linda (Wayne) Anderson of North Port, Fla.; Sherry (Roger) Braham of Clarksburg, Md., and Mary (Don) Wamsley of Germantown, Md.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was my supervisor at RAF Lakenheath, my first assignment. He was a wonderful man and a great supervisor. He will be missed. Deepest condolences to his family.
